Dear Reader:In 1930 my father, Paul C. Schumann, began restoring and refinishing fine antiques in his garage. His
clientele included friends and neighbors. The business grew quickly, enabling him to hire additional craftsmen and move the business to a small shop in downtown Louisville. It was here that my
father mastered his craft, acquiring and offering for sale precious antiques.
Over half a century later Schumann Antiques continues to provide an elegant collection of fine antiques. We have
kept the same values upon which my father built his reputation of quality and fine service. In 1957 we moved the showrooms to our present location, a former trolley booster station. Our showrooms
feature a prestigious collection of French, English and American antiques. The upper level has been renovated to house eight distinctive vignettes of classic antique furniture in room settings,
enabling you to see the collection in its proper environment.
We hope you share our appreciation for fine antiques -- their warmth, beauty and superb craftsmanship -- and encourage you to visit
Schumann Antiques to view the finest in Kentucky.
Sincerely,
Gregg Schumann
