English Hepplewhite style mahogany inlaid desk by Edwards & Roberts. This piece has beautiful inlay work on the gallery, and the two curved lids raise to expose nice size letter compartments. Just under these letter compartments are two pencil /pen pull-outs (not shown). The finish is original and has a great patina. circa 1870-1880.

Partnership Desk

This is an Empire mahogany handmade partnership desk. The base has elaborately carved pedestals and stretcher. Note the rope carving around the edge of the desk top and on each of the rounded desk corners. The desk is identical on both sides with two large drawers above two smaller drawers. Circa 1885-1890

Massachusetts Chippendale Oxbow Slant Lid Desk

This is a beautiful period Chippendale ball and claw foot slant lid desk. The top drawer has an oxbow shaped drawer front and all drawers have a double serpentine shape. The finish and hardware are original to the desk. The desk is from Massachusetts. The claw and ball feet are finely sculptured with knobby knuckles and swept-back (retractable) talons. The interior drawers have three beautifully carved shell patterns on the fronts with document drawers flanking the center door. The circa date is 1780. Period 18th century English oak William and Mary Lowboy; This lowboy has turnip feet below a curved cross stretcher. The front skirt has edge beading. The pulls have been replaced; however the ones shown are authentic to the piece. Circa 1710-1720 Dimensions: 32" wide X 21" deep X 29" tall

William and Mary Walnut Highboy

Exquisite period highboy dating to 1697; Date is crudely inscribed in top of upper case. The base was rebuilt in 1900 in New York City by a master craftsman. The drawer pulls were replaced about 20 years ago; however, the key hole escutcheons are original. The drawer fronts are veneered with carpathian elm.

Mahogany Queen Anne Arm Chair

Exceptional period 18th century Queen Anne Arm Chair; The crest rail on this mahogany chair has a beautiful shell carved motif as does the front of the seat rail. The trophy shaped back splat is decorated on the left and right sides with a leaf carving. This outstanding chair has a balloon shaped seat covered with very old needlepoint. It is in exceptional "as found" condition with only minor repairs. The well defined front cabriole legs have shell carvings at the top and end in carved trifid Drake feet. The gracefully carved arms end with extremely detailed carved eagles´ heads. Circa 1730-1740

This is a beautiful period walnut Queen Anne style mirror dating to 1750. The bottom half round on the very bottom is replaced by our shop and we cleaned and waxed the original finish. We feel the mirror could be original as it has some blemishes however it is possible the glass was repalced years ago. The patina is outstanding.

Walter Durfee Nine tube chime clock

One of three Walter Durfee grandfather clocks on display in our shop. The beautifully designed case is evident of the master craftsman that Durfee employed in his clock shop in Providence R.I. The Elliott movement chimes on the quarter hour on nine nickel plated tubes that hang in the rear of the case. This clock is 100 percent original. The movement is signed as well as the chime tubes (WALTER DURFEE,PROVIDENCE R.I.) Pictures alone cannot show the beauty of this outstanding clock.
